Professor Jason Halford

Theme Leader - Improved Consumption & Health

Jason is currently a reader in appetite and obesity at the University of Liverpool and Director of the Human Ingestive Behaviour laboratory. His research is focused on the psychobiological factors underlying the expression of appetite and their application to the understanding of the aetiology and treatment of obesity and binge eating. Jason aims to understand the various factors underlying the expression of feeding behaviour, how these conspire to produce over-consumption and how we can intervene to restore normal appetite regulatory process.

Jason is a chartered Health Psychologist and currently the Convernor of the Liverpool Obesity Research Network  and Chair Elect of the UK Association for the Study of Obesity – Europe’s largest and the World’s oldest National Obesity Science organisation.
