The University of Liverpool is a centre of research, knowledge and innovation with the world-class facilities to support cutting-edge research.

Research on animal health and welfare is undertaken by the School of Veterinary Science, two working research farms and integrated research institutes into endemic, emerging and zoonotic infections of livestock and poultry, encompassing epidemiology, vaccinology and diagnostics.

The university exploits crop genomics to develop the genetic tools necessary to improve wheat yield, adapt crops for stress tolerance and novel biofuels in world leading facilities such as the Centre for Genomic Research (CGR). Researchers are also investigating functional foods, appetite and obesity, health, the and psychology of food choices.
